What This Holder Does
Our Universal Stone Holder is designed to attach to the included Sharpal 202H guide rod. Once installed, it lets you use compatible 3rd party sharpening stones instead of being limited to the stock Sharpal abrasives.
The holder is adjustable and designed for 1 inch wide stones. The physical adjustment range is approximately 3.75 inches to 6.75 inches long. For best results, we recommend using stones from 4 inches to 6.25 inches long.
This gives you access to a much wider range of sharpening options, including diamond stones, ceramic stones, lapping film blanks, and other compatible abrasive plates.
Designed for Practical Use
We wanted this holder to be simple to use. Place your stone in the holder, adjust the screw until it fits, tighten lightly, and you are ready to sharpen.
The holder includes textured top fins that give you a comfortable grip while sharpening. It also has a textured rear knob that can be used for gripping, guiding, and tightening. A built in safety stop helps keep your hand farther away from the knife edge during use.
The A and B markings on the holder are there to help with repeatable setup. These markings correspond to common clamp depth reference points and can help you position your knife more consistently between sharpening sessions.
